Undergraduate Studies


The Electrical Engineering undergraduate curriculum at Lamar is fully accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). It offers a complete background in the fundementals of electrical engineering, as well as optional instruction in specialized areas such as computer engineering, instrumentation, communications, and control systems.

The entrance requirements for the electrical engineering program include the following high school courses(units):

    •  Four units of English
    •  Two units of Algebra
    •  One unit of Geometry
    •  One unit of Pre-Calculus
    •  One unit each of Chemistry & Physics
    •  One unit of a Foreign Language


Transfer students are required to have a minimum 2.0 GPA on all work prior to entrance. A maximum of 72 hours may be transfered towards the Electrical Engineering degree.
